Upgrades are the standard for Morrow Repair Services. Our mission is to provide improved service life for each pump or motor repaired. Material upgrades, hydraulic modifications, reverse engineering and system operations are all areas where MRS can contribute to make the pump the best it can be in a given application.
Material upgrades for impellers, wear rings, casings, shafts, suction bells, columns, and bowls may be performed to provide higher strength, improved resistance to cavitation, better protection against corrosion, better abrasion resistance, protection against galling, and superior wear resistance.
MRS can design and implement “A” Gap, “B” Gap and “A” Gap overlap modifications to eliminate hydraulic instabilities. Eliminating hydraulic instability at the impeller solves problems such as axial thrusting, high vibration, shaft breakage, balance disk and thrust bearing failures, impeller breakage, and casing/diffuser erosion.
Reversing engineering of pump parts, impellers and casings enables MRS to reclaim obsolete parts and make them readily available. This is often done at a fraction of the cost of upgrading the pump to a newer model being supported by the OEM.
Systems operation is one of the most frequent causes of pump problems and failures, but also the most often overlooked when addressing the root cause of failures. MRS has the engineering and experience to evaluate the system, the relationship of the pump to the system and develop a solution to make the pump more robust and compatible in the system, as well as to recommend system operational changes/upgrades.
